From the Attendance Office
Dear Parents/Guardian,
Welcome to Quail Valley Middle school home of the Raiders. I hope that this year will bring good things for our students. I want to give you some information regarding the attendance procedure for the this school year.
Did You Know?
- Students are required by TEA to be in school (classes) for 90% of the time to receive credit.
- Attendance is taken in every class, every period, every day.
- For attendance questions and concerns you can contact the Attendance Office by phone or email (email will get you the fastest response).
- When your student is absent you can send an email to attendanceqvms@fortbendisd.com, or drop a note at the attendance office.
- Remember to include the following information:
- Student first and last name
- Student grade
- Student ID
- Date of absences
- Reason for absences (fever, headache, etc.)
- Parent first and last name with contact number and email.
If a student has been absent for four (4) or more consecutive days because of an illness, they must bring a statement from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition. Students have five (5) days to turn in that note: if not, the student’s absence may be considered unexcused. This would make them in violation of attendance laws. (please refer to the Student/Parent Handbook).
I also would like to let you know that you may fax a note or doctor’s note to me and I have included my number. If you have any questions about the attendance procedures please contact me at 281-634-3614.
