Welcome students and parents! I’m thrilled to begin my 14th year of teaching in FBISD. As I will get to know you and your child throughout the year, I'd like you to know a little bit about me as well.
I was born in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico and lived in Chicago, Illinois until 1990. My family and I then moved to Orlando, Florida before ending up here in Houston, Texas.
I began and finished high school in Houston and graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown 2003 and soon after completed my graduate studies earning a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007. I successfully finished my course work in School Administration and was awarded a Principal Certification in 2014. And yes, in case you’re wondering, I do aspire to be an administrator one day when my children are a little older.
Although I love to teach, I also love to do other things as well. On my spare time (which isn’t much!), I LOVE to read good books (especially Sci-Fi), travel, jog, and above all, spend time with my family! I am the proud mommy of three awesome kids: Vicky, Leo, and Gabby.
Aside from being a teacher, wife, mother, and daughter, I'm also a Girl Scout co-troop leader for my older daughter's Junior troop. The best part of doing this, is of course, the cookies!!!
One more thing that you should know about me is that I plan for this year to be exceptional! Each student has the potential to become whatever he/she aspires to be with hard work and determination. I truly hope to bring that out in all my students!
