W.E.B. Where Everyone Belongs

  • Dear 8th Graders,

You are invited to apply as a member of the QVMS WEB Leaders! WEB stands for “Where Everyone Belongs.” Leaders are 8th-grade students who are good role models for younger students and are successful at our middle school. WEB Leaders’ communication skills, leadership potential, responsibility, and personality have helped them succeed in the middle school environment. The lessons they have learned should be shared to help others succeed. You could tremendously influence our new students, and you will discover many valuable leadership skills in the process. Plus, it will be fun!

What does a WEB Leader do? WEB Leaders are trained to work with our current sixth graders and other new to our campus students. After the extensive training, the WEB Leaders will meet with their sixth-grade mentee groups monthly to check in, discuss social problems, and complete activities designed to educate and inspire our 6th graders as they transition into middle school routines. We know that the more contact a sixth grader has with their WEB Leader, the more successful the sixth grader will be.

WEB Leadership roles are a year-long commitment. In addition to the monthly WEB meeting with your 6th-grade small group, you will need to attend WEB Leader training on Monday, October 3 (half day), and the monthly WEB Leaders meeting held before each scheduled 6th-grade WEB meeting. The WEB Leaders meetings will occur during 8th-grade lunch, and WEB meetings will occur during Advisory time.

Please complete the Google Form provided by Mr. Brown to notify me of your interest in being a WEB Leader. The application deadline is midnight on Friday, September 9. Applications will be reviewed the following week, and WEB Leaders will be announced by Friday, September 16.
