Welcome to 6th grade Art!
Art is the lense through which I see the world. It has been my passion for as long as I can remember. In my classroom, we strive for creativity rather than perfection. Every student can be successful, regardless of their skill level as long as they can follow directions. Not everyone is born to pursue the life of an artist, but there are so many ways in which art can be utilized to help foster growth, independent thinking, and creative expression.
My goal in 6th grade is to push creative thinking, build fine motor skills and introduce students to as many art materials and artists as possible.
A little about my background:
I am of Pakistani origin and can speak Urdu/ Hindi. I have a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from University of Houston and have experience in architecture and interior design fields. I have taught Art 1 - AP Art since 2019 at a high school level and have taught 6th grade Art at Dulles Middle School since 2023. I have been a practicing mixed media artist since 2013 and have created and sold custom paintings, drawings, murals, jewelry in private and gallery settings.
