Mr. Short was born and raised in Houston, Tx and involved in music his entire life from elementary school choirs, to rock bands, to the Houston Symphony. A 1999 TMEA All State Choir member, Mr. Short graduated from the University of Houston with a BA in Music in 2004 and has taught music of all types for well over 20 years in a variety of arenas. Mr. Short has toured all over the world performing, served as an audio engineer and even composed for film and video game soundtracks. This is Mr. Short's 14th year in public school music education and he is very excited to be part of the Dulles team and grow the choir program! 

Privately, Mr. Short is a professionally sponsored triathlete and marathon runner ranking in the top 1% in the world within his age group. Key accomplishments include being a sub-3 hour marathoner, IRONMAN World Championship Qualifier, Boston Marathon Qualifier and NYTCS Qualifier. Mr. Short is also the Owner and Head Coach of Rampage Racing and Endurance and resides in Pearland with his beautiful wife and 11 month old son.
