QVMS Robotics club is a gathering of students who are interested in learning about and working with robots. At robotics competitions, teams of students must design and build a robot that can compete against opponents in a series of specific challenges.
Robotics club is subdivided into three sections based on student commitment time available and skill sets.
Robotics 1: students with an interest in robotics will be able to join in the spring time with hummingbird and legominstorm activities; mostly just for those who want to explore and learn (limited size 30 students)
Robtics 2: students will utilize LEGO mindstorm to compete in the fall and spring and is limited to one to two teams of 4-5 students.
Robotics 3: VEX Competitive Robotics (yearlong) applications and interviews required in the spring for the next academic season (limited to one team of 4)
Students do not have to be enrolled in the Robotics Elective in order to participate in Robotics Club.
