Hello! My name is Annabel Vera and I am thrilled to be the Literacy Intervention Teacher at Cornerstone Elementary, where I work with students and teachers in grades Kindergarten through Fifth.
I was born and raised in Mission, Texas, which is located in the lower Rio Grande Valley. Most people know it as Home of The Ruby Red Grapefruit. In 1994, I moved to Sugar Land, Texas with my husband, Ramon and our blended family. Together we have 6 children! I attended the University of Texas-Pan American and graduated with degrees in Education and Special Education.
My teaching career began at Rio Grande City High School in 1985. After two fabulous years there, I found my way back to my hometown and spent 7 years at Cantu Elementary School in Mission CISD. While I was sad to leave such a wonderful campus and my hometown, I was excited to come to Sugar Land and work at FBISD! I started teaching at Lexington Creek Elementary the year it opened, and after 5 years, transferred to Oyster Creek Elementary to help open the campus. Prior to coming to CSE, I worked for six years as a FBISD Curriculum Helping Teacher. As I begin my seventh year at Cornerstone, I am proud to be a CSE Chameleon!
For fun I enjoy reading, traveling, shopping, and spending time with my family.
