Welcome to the Ridge Point High School Orchestra! Here's a little info about me, the director:

I was born and raised in Texas and received a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Texas at Austin. I also have two degrees from Arizona State University: a Master of Music Education and a Ph.D. in Musicology (a research discipline that studies music in all aspects of society and culture throughout recorded human history to the present). I have been teaching music in some capacity since 2000 and have taught at all levels from pre-K through university. Prior to joining the Ridge Point faculty in the fall of 2023, I had ten years of experience teaching strings in Texas public schools and university courses in Arizona. Most recently, I was on the faculty of Sam Houston State University, where I taught courses in music history and music appreciation. My biggest passion is making music with others--performing works from the rich treasure trove of the orchestral repertoire, especially--so joining the esteemed orchestra community of FBISD has been a dream come true!
