Professional:

I am in my fifth year here at RPHS (2021- present), currently serving as an Inclusion Teacher for English 3/4, having served as an assistant coach for football, baseball, and tennis.  I spent seven years as either the head or assistant baseball coach, assistant football, assistant basketball, assistant softball, or assistant volleyball coach at Wharton HS (2008-2015).  I spent two years as a teacher/coach in football and baseball at Angleton HS (2015-2017). I spent four years as the head baseball and assistant football coach at Stafford HS (2017-2021).  I graduated from Wharton High School in 1988, and in 1993 earned a B.S. degree from Rice University as a dual-sport athlete, lettering in football and baseball.  Post graduation, I worked for the Houston Astros Organization and played three seasons of Independent Professional Baseball. I spent 11 years in Non-Profit Management as the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Wharton.  My first year teaching and coaching began in Wharton, TX, in 2008 as a special education Inclusion Specialist/Co-Teacher and Assistant Football/Baseball Coach.  This year means 17 years in public education as an Inclusion Teacher/Coach.

Personal:

Married to Tala Allen for 20 years, who is also an Educator in the Houston Independent School District.  Two sons, Chance (31 years old) and Cody (24 years old).

Hobbies:

I love to spend my off time painting, saltwater fishing, traveling, and refereeing, to name a few.  I am definitely a foodie with a drive to learn and explore new things.  I am a lifelong learner at heart.
