A student’s birthday may be minimally celebrated in the classroom through a song or special recognition. Parents can bring store bought cookies or cupcakes, including napkins, for the class to celebrate their child’s birthday, which will be given out towards the end of the school day. Please notify your student's teacher and bring a completed copy of the Birthday Treat form to the Front Office when cookies or cupcakes are brought to school.
Birthday parties, balloons and other treats are not allowed at school.Absence Notes
Please email absence excuse notes/letters to attendanceCBE@fortbendisd.com.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Morning drop off and afternoon procedures are intended to keep our children safe and make the process of arriving and leaving school as organized and painless for our parents as possible. By following the rules, driving at the appropriate speed and being aware of the surrounding areas, we can all work together to make these portions of our day a little more manageable and keep our children safe.
Morning Drop-Off:
- Our school doors open at 7:30 a.m. each day.
- Please stay in your car and drive through the drop off line. Parking in the limited parking spots creates additional traffic and forces our students to cross the driveway increasing safety hazards and slowing down the flow of car rider traffic.
- Morning traffic can become congested from 7:55 a.m. - 8:05 a.m. In order to make sure your child is on time please arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 7:55 a.m.
- The instructional day begins at 8:10 a.m. Students that are tardy miss out on important instruction.
- If your student will be arriving to school after 8:15 a.m., you will need to walk them into the school to sign them in, this is for security precautions.
Arrival at School
Students will report to their designated areas upon arrival. Please make every effort to have your child at school by 7:45 a.m. so they may settle in for the day. Students may not be dropped off prior to 7:30 a.m. since there are no teachers on duty at that time. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m.-7:50 a.m. Students must be seated at their desks and ready for announcements at 8:10 a.m., otherwise they will be counted as tardy. Students are not allowed to be dropped off unescorted by a parent after the 8:10 a.m. bell. A parent must come into the front office and sign their child in if they are not in the building by 8:10 a.m. This is for your child’s safety.
Dismissal/Checkout Policy During School Hours
All students leaving school early must be signed out in the office by a parent, guardian, or an adult listed as an emergency contact who must show a picture ID (driver’s license). Only names listed on the child’s registration form and Emergency Health Card will be allowed to pick up your child. No child will be released without proper identification of the individual picking up the child. Please be advised that this procedure is for the safety of your child and will be strictly enforced. Sometimes it is necessary for a child to be picked up by a different individual or go home a different way on a specific day. Any changes in your child’s daily dismissal routine should be addressed in writing with a signature and sent to school with your child. In emergency situations, please contact the front office for assistance at 281-634-4080.
Please be advised that 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. is the busiest time of the school day. Students will not be dismissed from class after 3:00 p.m. **Note: Taking a student out of school before the end of the school day without a valid excuse may count against the student’s conduct grade. Early pickups will count the same as tardies due to missed instruction time.
