Born in Colombia, South America, my family immigrated to Houston when I was 5 years old.  I have called Houston home ever since then. I graduated from University of Houston Clearlake in 2002.  This is my 23rd year teaching.  My first 11 years of teaching were in HISD and the last 11 years in FBISD.  I taught kindergarten for 8 years, third for 10 yrs, and second grade for 5 years.  I am ESL and GT certified.

I love to travel and read.  I try to travel to a new place each summer with my husband and/or best friend.  I am currently trying to learn sign language and knitting.

My philosophy in teaching is that if you set the bar high and give students the tools they need with enthusiasm and affection, every child will surpass the high bar of excellence.  Building positive, great relationships with students, parents, and other teachers and administrators is the key to success for our students!
