Welcome to Brazos Bend Elementary Third Grade! My name is Lindsay Kulhanek and I have been teaching at Brazos Bend since 2004, teaching both second and third grade. I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach third grade language arts, reading and social studies.

I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialization from Baylor University. Sic ‘Em Bears! In addition to my generalist certification, I am also ESL and GT certified.

I have received special honors throughout my career.  I represented Brazos Bend Elementary as the Rookie of the Year for the 2004-2005 school year.  I was named Teacher of the Year in 2014-2015 and 2020-2021.  In 2021, I was named one of the finalists for District Teacher of the Year. I have been honored to represent our amazing campus.

Family is extremely important to me, and I am blessed to be part of a large family! My husband, Keith, and I enjoy spending time with our family and friends.

My philosophy is that all children can learn and be successful. In my classroom, it is my goal to develop independent learners who have a love of learning and are truly lifelong learners. Children should experience hands-on learning in a variety of learning styles. It is my job to create these experiences and to provide opportunities that allow my students to become more responsible. 

Brazos Bend Elementary is such a wonderful place to learn, and I feel so fortunate to play a part in your child’s education.
