Welcome to Fifth Grade!

My name is Mrs. Garcia and I am so excited to have you join our class family! This will be my third year at Brazos Bend teaching fifth-grade language arts and social studies. I previously taught 4th-grade math and writing, but I have truly found my best fit in fifth grade! I am a Houston native who found my way back after going to school and working in the hill country. I graduated from Texas State University and fell in love with nature during my time there. Besides nature, I also love food and trying out new recipes. My greatest love of all time though is my daughter who was born this past February and is now five months old. I also have two dogs and a cat who have my husband and I wrapped around their paws! My true passion is helping students conquer the world one day at a time and to prepare them for their next journey, middle school! I will always ask you to reach beyond the stars because I know you are capable of anything you put your mind to!
