Welcome to a new school year! This is my tenth year at Brazos Bend.  I am excited and honored to serve and lead Brazos Bend as the campus principal.  I am thrilled to continue to have the opportunity to work with the parents, students, and the community.  I am looking forward to a successful and productive year where I can support all students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders in order to ensure all students are inspired to reach their full potential.

I was born in Northern California and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University. I taught in East Baton Rouge Parish for three years before moving to Texas and joining Fort Bend ISD in 2002, where I taught first grade, reading recovery, and fourth grade for 10 years. I received my Master’s degree in administration in 2009 from Concordia University.  This is my 23rd year in education and I am still as passionate about students as I was when I walked into my first classroom in 1999.  I am excited about the school year and look forward to working with you.  Go Bullfrogs!

I am honored to be the assistant principal of Brazos Bend Elementary! I am looking forward to building positive relationships with the students, staff, parents and Brazos Bend community!

My career in education began 22 years ago in FBISD at Townewest Elementary as a 4th grade ELA teacher. Since then, I’ve taught 6th grade at Fort Settlement Middle School, 5th grade at Briargate Elementary and most recently 3rd and 5th grade at Austin Parkway Elementary.

I am a native Houstonian and attended school in the Houston Independent School District. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Houston - Central (Go Coogs!) and received my Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at the University of Houston - Victoria (Go Jaguars!).

My husband Richard is an educator and coach. Our daughter Shelby is a sophomore in college, Rikyah is an 8th grader and Richard IV is in the 4th grade. We enjoy our family dog Q, watching movies and eating out. My hobbies include scrapbooking, crafting, shopping and spending time with family and serving at church.

I believe that every child can be educated to reach their full potential and I’m excited to be a part of a positive and enriching environment! Go BBE Bullfrogs - learning and growing to be A Leap Ahead!
