My relevant qualifications include an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in English Language Arts/Reading from Texas Southern University and a Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Education Administration from Houston Christian University. My professional history includes providing English Language Arts/Reading and English as a Second Language instruction and support to students in grades two through eight. I use multiple teaching methods to engage students' different learning styles, such as visual, auditory, reading, writing, and kinesthetic. Additionally, throughout my teaching career, I have acquired accolades such as “Beginning Teacher of the Year”, “ESL Teacher of the Year”, and “Teacher of The Year”. I have also served as grade level chair and Reading and Math interventionist throughout the greater Houston area. It is a pleasure and an honor to serve the ESL population at Christa McAuliffe Middle School, and I am eager to utilize my education, teaching experience and passion for teaching young people to ensure that each scholar reaches their individualized academic goal.
