Ms. Angela Moten

I am so excited to be the librarian at Christa McAuliffe Middle School!  This school year marks my 26th year in education, and I have been a school librarian since 2016.  I was a classroom teacher for 18 years before I became a librarian.  I began my journey as an educator in 1998.  I have had many great experiences in education. One of my proudest moments was being named the Aldine ISD ESL Teacher of the Year in 2010! This was a true honor.  I also had the pleasure of being named the HAABSE (Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators) 1st runner up for Elementary Teacher of the Year during the 2021-2022 school year. I earned my undergraduate degree from Prairie View A&M University and obtained a Master's degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University. I absolutely LOVE to read!  My favorite book in elementary school was "Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry" by Mildred D. Taylor. That was the book that sparked my passion for reading.  I enjoy reading a variety of genres and hope that my passion for literacy and innovative thinking will be contagious.  See you in the library!
