Gifted and Talented at Oakland Elementary

  • Identified students in grades K-5 are cluster grouped with GT-trained teachers in the core subject areas of English language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics.  Program services for identified Kindergarten students begin March 1 as mandated by the state.

  • GT PAC Parent Symposium

    The GT Parent Symposium is designed specifically by GT parents for GT parents. This event will be held virtually on February 23, 24, and 26, 2022. The Symposium will include sessions presented by parents, an update from the GT Department, and a keynote speaker, Dr. C. Matthew Fugate, assistant professor at the University of Houston-Downtown.  His keynote address, “There are 2E’s in CrEativE: Attention Divergent Hyperactive Giftedness” discusses the importance of creativity in education for both the individual and society as a whole.

    • Students who are currently identified and receiving gifted and talented services in FBISD in any content area. (re-evaluation fee required)
