I am a Texas A&M graduate. I have been an elementary school teacher for twenty years. My student teaching and first two years in the classroom were with Northeast ISD in San Antonio. After moving to the Sugar Land area I taught fourth and fifth grade Math and Science at Meadows Elementary for six years. After having my third child I decided to stay home for a while. I returned to the classroom in 2008, and have been here at Oakland ever since. I have lived here in Waterside for 19 years. In my free time outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a daughter, Emily, who is a senior at Texas A&M (whoop!). My oldest son Walker is a sophomore at The University of St. Thomas where he plays baseball. My youngest, Braden, is a Freshman in the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn (whoop!).  I really love when my students get that “sparkle” in their eye because they have learned something new. I strive daily to create lifelong readers who are eager to read new things and encourage their friends to read with them. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!
