This is my 12th year of teaching Special Education for public schools, and my 6^th year teaching at Oakland Elementary. I enjoy the challenge of finding the best way to help students learn, recall, and utilize the learning they gain. I strive to help them make connections to previous concepts and build on that knowledge. It is always my goal to have each student feel confident and safe in my classroom. In my personal life I have 3 grown kids and a son-in-law. My true joy is playing with my grandkids who are 2 and 4 years old. Our family loves dogs! We have had a whole dachshund family over the past 25 years.  We lost the last one in August; he was 17 years old. I currently have a King Charles Spaniel named Hercules. I was at home with my kids while they were in public school. The youngest graduated in 2013. During those years as an at-home mom, I served as a PTA President 6 times and then was elected to the FBISD Board of Trustees in 2007. I served 2 elected terms for a total of six years as a Trustee. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
