You DO NOT have to know anything about music or our
instruments to play with the FSMS Orchestra!

The FSMS Orchestra teaches the following instruments:

Violin     Viola     Cello     Bass     Harp

Students will be taught everything from the very beginning: how to hold the instrument, read musical notation, and play many different types of music. We work on both solo and large ensemble playing skills. Our Beginning Orchestra students are learning these instruments and are divided into four instrument-based classes that meet on a daily basis during their normal school schedule. 

Students of all grade levels are encouraged to join the orchestra! We have many students who join orchestra in 7th and 8th grade!
