I am proud to be in my second year as an ESL teacher in Missouri City M.S. I have completed teaching my 10th year. I am a Texas state-certified educator for 4-8th grade ELAR/ESL. I started my career as a 7th grade ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading/ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and taught 5th grade ELAR/ESL. In MCMS, I am teaching students that are in their first years of learning a second language as well as teaching our grade level content ELAR district TEKS. 

A little about myself: I am a native of South Texas; I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, in the city of Donna. I graduated from The University of Texas-Pan American majoring in English and having a minor in Spanish. My first formal teaching job was as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for a county head start program. After a year, I decided to become a substitute teacher to gain more experience helping children in the middle school area, which is what I was hoping to do as an educator. My first experience as a teacher was in my home district, Donna ISD; I worked my first five years and eventually moved to Houston to teach at Pasadena ISD for four years. I am now establishing a new life in the area and happily working in this amazing school.
