Hello Shark Parents!

My name is Anjali Jacobson, and I am thrilled to be your child's 2nd grade teacher! I was born in Indonesia and lived in Bali for 8 years. I moved to Texas in 2015 and have been here ever since! I am a proud product of Fort Bend ISD and graduated from Dulles High School. In 2022, I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Teaching and Learning from the University of Houston.

I decided to become a teacher because of the amazing and compassionate teachers I met in Fort Bend ISD, who inspired me to join this field. Initially, I wanted to become a nurse, but after accepting a tutoring position at Dulles High School, I fell in love with teaching. I switched majors, and the rest is history. I love making a positive impact on my students' lives, and they have made a positive impact on mine.

A few cool facts about me: I currently speak four languages—English, Indonesian, Chinese, and Malay. I love connecting with students and learning new languages as I go! I am also a self-taught henna artist. I have been doing henna for parties, weddings, Eid, and Diwali since I was thirteen, and it is something I am passionate about. Additionally, I paint, and you will see some of my artworks in my classroom! I play a few musical instruments, but I am particularly skilled at playing the drums. I have been playing since I was 10 because my old music teacher needed a replacement drummer and asked me even though I did not know how to play. She showed me how, and that started a lifelong love of playing the drums.
