Art is a vital part of the development of our Sharks. Art classes are designed to allow students to develop an understanding and appreciation of artwork and artistic skills, using hands-on approaches to learning. Students develop creative and flexible forms of thinking, problem-solving skills, and critical-thinking skills that allow them to appreciate all forms of the visual arts. Each student has access to an education with self-expression and process at the heart of each lesson. The curriculum follows the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the fine arts. Students have the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and contests throughout the year.
