I am excited about being the Literacy Specialist for Schiff Elementary.  I have taught for over thirty years and literacy has always been my passion. When I graduated from the University of Houston (many, many years ago), I knew that reading would be my priority subject. When students can read, they can learn and grow. 

I imparted this love of literacy to my two daughters, who also went into education.  They blessed me with six book-loving grandchildren who have been read to by their grandma. I am thankful to continue to impart this excitement about reading to new generations. It is a timeless treat.
