I am so honored to be a Schiff Shark! I am committed to excellence in education and I am a life-long learner. I can’t wait to serve this community as your new Principal!
I am beginning year 30 in public education and I have been an administrator in Fort Bend ISD since 2003. I earned a B.A. in Communications and Spanish from Baylor University, a M.A.T. in Spanish from Texas State University, a M. Ed. in Education Administration from Texas State University, and an Ed. D. in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston Main Campus.
I enjoy working with teachers to prepare students for futures beyond what they can imagine. I am committed to helping children maximize their experiences and reach their full potential as they prepare for the next step in their educational journey.
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, I am active in my church, and I enjoy reading, and spending time with my dog Ruby.

I am honored to return to the team as the Assistant Principal at Jan Schiff Elementary! I started my teaching career at Jan Schiff Elementary the year it first opened and was there for 9 years where I taught second and third grade and was a gifted and talented teacher, team leader, mentor teacher, supervising teacher, and Student Council sponsor. For the past 5 years, I have been the Assistant Principal at Rosa Parks Elementary. Prior to this experience, I was the Assistant Principal Intern at Ridgemont Elementary and Early Childhood Center for 1 year.
Throughout my career in education, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse learners and have witnessed firsthand the benefits of supporting our children both with academic skills and social-emotional skills. In doing so, our children are ready to learn and are prepared for life beyond the classroom. I also believe in growing each student by meeting them where they are and providing engaging learning experiences that motivate them to reach their full potential.
Of course, for our students to reach their full potential they need amazing teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, custodians, cafeteria staff, front office staff, administrators, and their families pouring into them. Everyone plays a vital role in making a positive impression on the lives of our children! I am excited to begin building partnerships with everyone as we work together to provide the best learning environment for our students.
I was born and raised in Houston, TX and am a proud graduate of Fort Bend ISD and the University of Houston. My husband, Michael, is a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Houston and we have been blessed with four amazing children, Alana, Isabella, Nicolas, and Sophia. Alana currently attends college in New York City, Isabella is transitioning to sixth grade at Baines Middle School, and Nicolas and Sophia are Schiff Sharks. All of our children have attended Jan Schiff Elementary for their elementary years which has given me the unique opportunity to experience the campus from the perspective of a parent as well as a staff member. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, decorating, and traveling.
I am excited about the opportunity to support students, teachers, and families at Jan Schiff Elementary and look forward to a successful 2023-2024 school year!
