I am honored to be the Principal at Jan Schiff Elementary!  I have 16 years of years of experience as an educator.  I started my teaching career at Jan Schiff Elementary the year it first opened and was there for 9 years where I taught second and third grade and was a gifted and talented teacher, team leader, mentor teacher, supervising teacher, and Student Council sponsor.  After teaching, I served as an Assistant Principal at Ridgemont Elementary and Early Childhood Center and Rosa Parks Elementary for a total of 6 years before returning to Schiff as an Assistant Principal for 1 year.  

Throughout my career in education, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse learners and have witnessed firsthand the benefits of supporting our children both with academic skills and social-emotional skills.  In doing so, our children are ready to learn and are prepared for life beyond the classroom.  I also believe in growing each student by meeting them where they are and providing engaging learning experiences that motivate them to reach their full potential.

Of course, for our students to reach their full potential they need amazing teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, custodians, cafeteria staff, front office staff, administrators, and their families pouring into them.  Everyone plays a vital role in making a positive impression on the lives of our children!  I am excited to continue building partnerships with everyone as we work together to provide the best learning environment for our students. 

I was born and raised in Houston, TX and am a proud graduate of Fort Bend ISD and the University of Houston.  My husband is a firefighter/paramedic, and we have been blessed with four amazing children.  All of our children have attended Jan Schiff Elementary for their elementary years, which has given me the unique opportunity to experience the campus from the perspective of a parent as well as a staff member.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, decorating, and traveling.

I am excited about the opportunity to support students, teachers, and families at Jan Schiff Elementary and look forward to a successful school year!
