I love the world of counseling and I'm elated to be your child's counselor this year.  I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Houston and a master's degree in school counseling from the University of St. Thomas.

 

I currently hold certifications in the areas of:  Special Education (EC-12), General Education (EC-6), ESL (English as a Second Language), School Counseling, and School Principal.

 

As the counselor, I am here to partner with parents, school staff members, and the community to help make Oakland Elementary a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment for our students.  My goal is to help students overcome barriers that hold back academic, social, and emotional success by providing each student with prevention and intervention services.

 

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best, "the function of education is to teach one to think intensely and to think critically.  Intelligence plus character... that is the goal of true education."
