Mrs. Julie Reading
Welcome! My name is Julie Reading and this is my 24th year as a kindergarten teacher at Colony Bend Elementary. I am a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement and a minor in Spanish. I began my teaching career in Round Rock, Texas and taught bilingual kindergarten for two years at Bluebonnet Elementary. After leaving Round Rock, I moved to Austin, married my husband of almost 29 years, and became a mother to my now 28-year-old son. We later transferred to San Diego, CA for my husband's work.
Upon returning to my beloved home state of Texas, we settled in Sugar Land to be closer to family. When my son started Kindergarten, I decided to return to teaching. I have been fortunate to remain at Colony Bend the entire time. I am the kindergarten team leader and work with a wonderful team. Colony Bend is like my second home and its students and families, my second family. I love what I do and look forward to each wonderful year.
Kindergarten is my passion and I never stop learning from my students. It is a constant source of joy and pride for me to be a part of their school journey and to, hopefully, play a small part in their future success. I have had the pleasure of teaching each of the children of various families in my time at Colony Bend. I am so very honored when one of my former students contacts me or stops by for a visit-I truly treasure watching their progress throughout their time at Colony Bend and beyond.
I'm excited about starting another year at Colony Bend and look forward to getting to know each of my students and their families! It's going to be a great year!
Go Eagles!
