I have worked for Fort Bend ISD for 14 years. I was a Clinic/Counselor Aide for five years at Mission Bend Elementary. I served as a Special Education Aide for two years at Oyster Creek Elementary school. This is my tenth year of teaching. I taught Special Education at Mission West Elementary for one year. Then I joined the AFE family. I taught ESL full time for two years, and half-day ESL/half-day Reading Recovery for four years. I was a Pre-K for two years. I am excited to bring all of that training and experience to the SAILS classroom.
I have a Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction.
I am passionate about students learning life skills that will take them into their future. I am able to do this with my particiation in Destination Imagination. This is a wonderful program that will challenge and teach kids many skills they need to be successful in life. The kids are on teams and work all year on researching their challenge, creating their skit, making their own costumes and props. They will go to a tournamtent to compete and show what they have learned. I am the Gulf Coast Regional Challenge Master for the Rising Stars challenge.
