Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology with a Clinical Competency Certification, as well as being licensed by the American Speech and Hearing Association and the Texas State Board of Examiner for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  Master of Education Degree from the University of Houston and hold a lifetime teaching certification in the State of Texas.

I love seeing students attain new skills, abilities and confidence! I have a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology with a Clinical Competency Certification, as well as being licensed by the American Speech and Hearing Association and the Texas State Board of Examiner for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  I have been employed as a Speech Language Pathologist, Speech Language Pathologist-CFY and Assistant Speech Language Pathologist since August 2002. I also have a Master of Education Degree from the University of Houston and hold a lifetime teaching certification in the State of Texas. 

My hobbies are music, reading, walking and training my two standard poodle puppies in preparation for Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Certification. I am a native Texan and have a large and extended family. 

Speech Information

  • Speech-Language Pathology Services include—1) identification of children with speech or language impairments; 2) Diagnosis and appraisal of specific speech or language impairments; 3) Referral for medical or other professional attention necessary for the rehabilitation of speech or language impairments; 4) Provision of speech and language services for the rehabilitation or prevention of communicative impairments; and 5) Counseling and guidance of parents, children, and teachers regarding speech and language impairments.  34 CFR § 300.34(c) (15) Speech-Language Pathologists/Therapists specialize in the various aspects of speech therapy including articulation, language, fluency (stuttering), and voice. In the educational setting, the determination of a speech impairment is based on the presence of a communication disorder that adversely affects the educational or functional performance of the student. The ARD committee, including the Speech-Language Pathologist/Therapist, determines if the student meets the eligibility criteria for speech-language impairment and if the student requires specially designed instruction by a speech-language pathologist. Speech therapy services can be provided through a variety of service delivery models. 34 CFR § 300.8 (c) (11)
