• COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMS

College Admissions tests provide colleges a way to compare applicant academic strengths. The SAT and ACT are just one aspect of the college admissions process. Please remember that scores alone will not guarantee admissions or rejection. If you are planning to attend a 2-year college, please note that they do not require standardized test scores for admissions.

It is important to plan ahead when it comes to the SAT and ACT. The BEST time to test is during the spring semester of 11th grade and the summer before your Senior year of high school.

*Because of COVID-19, some colleges have opted to waive the SAT/ACT requirement. Students who choose to apply this way, as a "test optional" candidate, will need to ensure they submit any extra documentation that is required.

The TSI Assessment (TSIA2) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college-level coursework in the areas of reading, writing, and math. TSIA is a placement assessment and does not have any bearing on college admissions.
