Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art education with a teaching certification from UTRGV Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from TTU

Mr. Zarate

Hello! My name is Mr. Zarate and I am one of three art instructors here at ACHS. I received my bachelors degree in Art Education along with my certification from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. After completing that degree, I pursued my Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Texas Tech University, where I also had experience teaching and assisting in a few classes. In my time in west Texas, I also had the opportunity to apprentice under several represented artists who show work nationally and internationally.

If you have any questions about the course, there is a 'parent folder' available on Schoology that may help you answer your concerns. If there is a more specific concern you have, please feel free to contact me through email.

  • At the moment, we do not have any tutorials scheduled for visual arts but if your student would like to stay after school until about 4pm to work on their projects or get caught up they are more than welcome to stick around. I will give them a pass indicating they have permission to work in the room. Have the student reach out to me personally so that we can make sure it happens.
