Dr. Erika Celeste Vershon
Dear Sienna Crossing Navigators,
My name is Dr. Erika Celeste Vershon, and I am honored to serve as the new Assistant Principal at Sienna Crossing Elementary! I’m thrilled to join the Navigator family and look forward to supporting our students, staff, and community throughout the school year.
This year marks my 20th in education, and during my journey, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles. I began my career in Fort Bend ISD at Sugar Land Middle School, where I served as a 6th-grade Social Studies teacher, a 7th-grade Texas History teacher, and the AVID Coordinator and Elective teacher. I later transitioned to Houston ISD, where I served as an elementary school counselor—an experience that deepened my commitment to supporting the whole child. Each of these roles has prepared me for the work I am excited to do as your Assistant Principal.
My leadership philosophy is simple: meaningful relationships are the foundation of a thriving school. I believe that strong connections with students, parents, staff, and all school stakeholders are essential to creating a supportive, enriching, and safe learning environment. When we work together and genuinely know one another, we create a school culture where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Outside of school, I enjoy practicing yoga, reading, and light hiking. My husband and I love to travel and spend quality time with our nieces, family, and friends. We also share our home with one spoiled furbaby—Ghost, our tuxedo cat—who keeps us entertained. I’m an active volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a member of the Speakers Committee, where I get to combine my love for education and community engagement.
I’m excited to meet each of you and to collaborate in making this school year a fantastic one for our Navigators. Thank you for the warm welcome—I’m proud to be part of this amazing community!
Erika Celeste Vershon, Ed.D.
