   Asking questions and the excitement of discovering the answers is why I love education and chose to become a teacher. It is a true joy to encourage the discovery process and life-long learning in my students. And there is no better place to do this than Sienna Crossing! I am proud to be part of this outstanding educational environment, and I can honestly say that I love getting up to come to work every day!

   This is my twenty-fourth year teaching at Sienna Crossing, and my twenty-seventh year in education. In addition to teaching fifth grade, I have experience in Kindergarten, first, second, and third.

   My love of reading led me to earn my B.A. in Literature from Oakland University in Michigan. Later, I earned my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

   Although I have loved living in Texas for over twenty years, I was born and raised in Michigan, and most of my family still lives there. My husband, Rick, and I visit there often and love the white Christmases and cool summers.

   My primary goal as a teacher is for my students to love learning and look forward to attending school each day. I want our classroom culture to be loving and supportive. If we can build those relationships, academic success and growth are ensured.

   I look forward to working together to make your child's fifth-grade year the best yet!
