Belvina "Biny" Timmons

"Where we guide young minds as they navigate through the channels of learning"

My name is Biny Timmons and I am delighted and grateful to be part of the dynamic teaching staff here at Sienna Crossing Elementary School.  As a native Iowan, I attended the University of Northern Iowa, Go, Panthers! My teaching experience has included schools in Iowa, Oklahoma, and Texas with a variety of levels ranging from pre-school to high school; however, my passion lies in the hearts of kindergartners and first graders! I am currently teaching first grade and loving it!

My philosophy is simply "Always Believe in Children." The reason that I am a teacher is simply because I had two teachers who believed in me. I will do my very best to provide an excellent foundation for your child. My belief is to instill a sense of pride in my students and to foster opportunities for the children to grow in self-worth, while becoming life-long learners. Together, we celebrate their differences because that is what makes each of us so special.

I am a dedicated professional and enjoy making learning purposeful and fun for my students. In 2003, I was very proud and privileged to be chosen Teacher of the Year by my colleagues at Sienna Crossing. I was also honored to be selected as one of the five Fort Bend District Teacher of the Year Finalists that same year.  It was a very exciting time in my professional career!

I have a son, Cameron, who is a graduate of the University of Texas and lives in Austin. Currently he is working on the production side in the radio, film and television industry which will further his dream of writing screen plays in the future.

During my leisure time I love to read, dine out with friends, decorate my home and shop . . . always ready to add to my collection of jewelry, hats, and cook books.  And, I can't forget the love of ladybugs for my classroom! You will find me in the dining room, too, as I love to entertain. I enjoy gourmet cooking, baking, and preparing an elegant table scape for a luncheon or dinner. It's all in the presentation as they say!

A rainbow of friends
Is a dream we can share
Where everyone's treated
With kindness and care
