Hello. My name is Melissa Hernandez and this is my first year at Lakeview Elementary.  I moved from San Antonio, Texas this summer to be closer to my family. I have a Bachelor's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Learning Disabilities and a Master's degree in Special Education from Wayland Baptist University.  I taught Special Education for 22 years before taking a position as an Assistive Technology Specialist.  I helped students on 26 campuses find their voice through using AAC.  After 5 years of working in A.T. I am back in the classroom doing what I love.

    I am a wife and a mother of one son who has just started 2nd grade and a dog named Marshall Kevin.  I love to read books and be with my family playing board games.  I am excited to be at Lakeview Elementary!
