Mrs. Kristin Hutchison
My name is Kristin Hutchison, and I am thrilled to be the Dyslexia Teacher at Austin Parkway Elementary. I LOVE being a member of the APE family and am looking forward to a great school year.
I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Columbia College with a Master of Education in Divergent Learning. My husband, daughter, and I moved to Texas in June 2015 from South Carolina, and we love our life in The Lone Star State. I taught in two different South Carolina public schools for 17 years before joining the Fort bend ISD family in 2015.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year, and I am excited to share my passion for learning with my students. My teaching philosophy is summed up perfectly in this quote by George Evans, "Every child can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way."
My goal each school year is that our classroom to foster a safe community where we all feel supported and encouraged to share our thoughts and ideas. Our classroom will be a place where we respect one another and understand that making mistakes along the way is part of the journey to understanding. I am looking forward to an incredible year!
