Hi, My name is Kayla Hooks (formly MacCurdy). I am excited about being your 4th  grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. My time at Lakeview started before I was born. My mom, Carol MacCurdy, taught at Lakeview when she was pregnant with me. Although not a real Viking, I consider myself a close second. This will be my 9th year teaching at Lakeview Elementary. I have taught 4th and 5th grade, and it is safe to say I am a fan of big kids. On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I currently live in Missouri City with my husband, Mason, and our dog Mac. I am excited about making this the best school year yet!

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University, located in Huntsville, TX.I am certified to teach early childhood through 6th grade in all subject areas and English as a Second Language. Fun fact, I am a product of FBISD and graduated from Kempner High School.
