Welcome to the 2021 - 2022 school year. I am excited to begin a new successful school year here at Walter Moses Burton Elementary!
After graduating from Sam Houston State University, I began my career in Fort Bend ISD in 2000 as a fourth grade teacher at Ridgegate Elementary. I served the RGE community for seven years. From there I became a Campus Improvement/Data Specialist in FBISD. I served as assistant principal of Oakland Elementary for three years before becoming principal of Barbara Jordan Elementary.
I look forward to a great year of growing and learning with the WBE Sheriff Family.

It’s great to be back home! I am originally from Fresno, TX. I grew up near the volunteer fire department with my family of eight. I now have a family of my own with my wife Jennifer. We have two amazing children! I am excited and honored to be able to provide leadership to my original community. My goal is to provide Burton with a culture and environment where all students and staff feel that they can be successful.
My educational background starts in FBISD where I attended Burton, Lake Olympia, and graduated from Hightower High School in 2007. Go CANES! I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and my Masters from Lamar University. I was a classroom teacher for 7 years at Goodman, Quail Valley, Jan Schiff, and most recently Sugar Land Middle School. I believe that this will be an amazing year and can’t wait to get started!
