My name is Mary Owens I am so excited to join the Oyster Creek family!  This is my first year in Fort Bend ISD but my 27^th year of teaching! 

I am a native Houstonian.  I attended public schools in HISD.  I received my bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and of course, purple is my favorite color.   I accepted blue and gray and received my masters from Nova Southeastern University Summa Cum Laude.

I am certified to teach English 1-8.  I have my ESL endorsement and Gifted and Talented certificate.  I have taught first grade for 25 years and second grade for 2 years.  Guess what my favorite grade to teach is?

I am wife and proud mother of two wonder children.  My daughter Alexandria (22) and my son Ethan (10).  In my free time I enjoy shopping, baking, crafting, going to the movies and traveling with my family.

My teaching moto is I believe every child can learn!  My goal is to excite and ignite every child’s fuse to learn!
