Hello Husky Artists and Parents! I'm Mrs. Jackson the Madden Elementary art teacher! I am so excited to share my creativity and passion for art with all of our Madden Huskies. I live in Richmond, Texas not too far from Madden with my husband David, who is a football coach and teacher at Dulles High School, our dog Theodore, and we are expecting our first child in October 2021! In my free time I enjoy photography, embroidery, watching movies, and going to my husband's football games. I graduated in 2012 from University of Houston with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Digital Media. Following graduation, I immediately formed my own portrait and event photography business which I operated for three years. I decided to change career paths based on my love for children and a desire to impact them in a different and exciting way. 2015-2016 was my first year as a teacher. I had an amazing time opening Madden Elementary and teaching our huskies, I even won FBISD District Rookie of the Year! I expect my art class to be a positive environment that grows student imagination and creative talents as they continue through the elementary years. In our class we work with a variety of media (painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, printmaking, collage, etc.) expand our knowledge of art history, as well as explore new technologies in art. I also love leading Art Club and Photography club at Madden. I cannot wait for you to visit our studio, and see all of our beautiful creations in the Madden hallway galleries!
