Greetings Goodman Owl Nation,
My name is Mrs. Rosalind Brown. I have been teaching for 19 years. This is my 4th year at Lula Belle Goodman Elementary, as a Kindergarten Teacher and my 8th year with FBSID. My education career started in 2001, I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction-Reading Education, from Prairie View A&M University, received my teaching certification from the University of Houston, received my Bachelor of Science degree from McNesse State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I am from Louisiana, but I have been living in Texas for 30 years.
I have taught grades Pre-K-3rd. I was a reading and math interventionist for grades 1st - 4th. My leadership experience includes: team leader, mentor teacher, science lead teacher literacy coach, reading, math, and science coordinator, Champion of Gifted and Talented and Writer Workshop Coordinator.
I have taught in Houston and Alief Independent School Districts. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
My accomplishments are Teacher of the Year nominee 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2015. I was the 1st grade gifted and talent teacher 2015-2016. I have published 7 children books while working at FBISD.
I am married to Dr. Eric Brown and we have 3 children Michael, Geric and Aeriel. My hobbies includes shopping, decorating, exercising, planning events and having bible studies with friends and family. I love woriking with young children and teaching them how to read.
