Mrs. Nicole Jackson
Hello DLE Artists and Parents! I'm Mrs. Jackson, and I am so excited to join the outclass team as the 2nd art teacher to share my creativity and passion for art with all of our Leonetti Lions. My family consists of my husband David, who is the Head Football Coach at Crawford High school, our dog Gus, and our beautiful daughter Layla who was born in October 2021. In my free time I enjoy photography, embroidery, watching movies, decorating my home, and going to my husband's football games. I graduated in 2012 from University of Houston with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Digital Media. Following graduation, I formed my own portrait and event photography business which I operated for three years. I decided to change career paths based on my love for children and a desire to impact them in a different and exciting way. 2015-2016 was my first year as a teacher. I had an amazing time opening Madden Elementary, I even won FBISD District Rookie of the Year and continued to teach there for 10 more fantastic years. I expect my art class to be a positive environment that grows student imagination and creative talents as they continue through the elementary years. In our class we work with a variety of media (painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, printmaking, collage, etc.) expand our knowledge of art history and cultures, as well as explore new technologies in art. I cannot wait for you to visit our studio, and see all of our beautiful creations in the Leonetti hallway galleries!

Hello Leonetti Lions,
I am looking for 4th and 5th grade students that would like to be leaders in art advocacy in our school and community. Lion’s Art Den will be an after school meeting that allows students the opportunity to learn and grow as artists in a variety of mediums, and further the skills that we practice in the art studio every day in class. Students will be selected based off of their application completion and an artwork submission (outlined on the permission slip). If your child is interested, please have them pick up an Application/Permission slip outside of Mrs. Jackson’s door (H206). The last day for applications/artwork to be turned in is Thursday, October 23rd at 3:50pm. Meetings will be held every other Tuesday November 4th-May 5th from 3:50-4:45pm. Students must not have any conflicting events, and will need to be picked up or escorted home by a parent as there are no crossing guards at this time. Once all applications and artworks have been collected, students will receive an acceptance letter on Friday, October 31st confirming their participation. Only 20 students will be selected for this opportunity, I look forward to seeing what our Leonetti Lion Artists are capable of!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via email: NicoleS.Jackson@fortbendisd.gov.
Thank you,
Mrs. Jackson
