Hello,

My name is Barbara McClanahan, and I am excited to be your child's 3rd grade math and science teacher this year!  I'm entering my 21st year of teaching and have experience working with students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  We are going to have a wonderful year full of learning, growth, and excitement.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from the University of Houston.  After my son was born, I returned to school to pursue my passion for education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, also from the University of Houston.

I am engaged to a wonderful man named Dennis.  I have a son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Jessica, and a daughter named Maddie.  Austin and Jess have blessed me with three amazing grandchildren: Blaine who will be in 7th grade this year, Blair, who is 2, and Barrett, who just turned 1.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.  My door is always open.  I believe it is important to maintain open communication between us, and I would love to talk with you whenever you feel the need.  I look forward to a fantastic year ahead and can't wait to get to know both you and your child!
