Welcome to our Madden Husky Artist Page!

In our art class we develop not only skills and techniques to create art, but embrace each students' individual creativity and imagination as well. In our studio we use a variety of media and techniques including: colored pencil, crayon, oil and chalk pastels, paint, watercolor, resist techniques, collage, clay, 3D sculpture, and more! Students will develop art vocabulary and learn how they can apply art to future jobs. We create a safe and positive environment for the students to show their individuality.

  • Mira Patel wins Grand Prize for Take Care of Texas Art Contest

5th Grader Mira Patel just won the Grand Prize for the Take Care of Texas 2019 Student Art Contest. The contest required students to illustrate positive ways Texans can help keep our air and water clean, conserve water and energy, and reduce waste. We had 41 of our Madden Huskies enter this art contest, and they received over 4000 entries throughout the state. Mira will be awarded a Samsung Laptop, and her artwork will be featured in the Take Care of Texas and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s social media posts, newsletters, and media announcements, at the 2019 Environmental Trade Fair and Conference, and on the Take Care of Texas website as well as published in the next edition of the Take Care of Texas activity book. • Art Club Students win 1st place in division at Galveston Contest

Our 23 Madden Art Club students entered a trash barrel into the 2019 Beautify the Bucket Competition in Galveston, TX this weekend. The competition allows groups and individuals to decorate a trash barrel to encourage trash pickup on the beaches all over Galveston Island. Madden Art Club’s Theme was “Galveston Fun!” and featured attractions from all over Galveston Island including, Fishing, Moody Gardens, Pleasure Pier, Beaches, Galveston Island State Park, The Strand, Cruises and Schlitterbahn Waterpark. The girls worked many hours during their Art Club meeting, outclass time and gave up their recess to complete their bucket! Their entry took 1st place in the “Youth Ages Under 11” category. Keep an eye out for the Madden Bucket as well as the other beautifully decorated buckets all over Galveston on your next trip!
