Welcome to Brazos Bend Elementary where learning is MAGICAL! 

 

My name is Leigha Gatson and I am a Kinder teacher at BBE. 

I received my Bachelors of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Texas at San Antonio in May 2011 and have been in education since then. I received my Master's of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University spring 2019 and completed my Principal Program at Lamar University in 2020. I am certified to teach in Texas from Early Childhood to 6th grade, ESL, as well as Gifted and Talented students.

My passion for teaching goes beyond paper and pencil. The relationships I am able to build with my students helps them to see the good in all things, starting with themselves. The relationships I am able to build with my students’ families help create a strong support system to ensure we are all in this this together!

Outside of BBE, I enjoy spending time with my family hiking, discovering waterfalls, and traveling!

I look forward to an amazing year of learning and sharing that will lead us to a magical journey:)
