Welcome to Laveview Elementary where we love, laugh, and live happily ever after!

 

My name is Leigha Gatson and I am the Pre-K teacher at LVE. I am thrilled to be at a school with so much history and a school that my dad and his siblings attended. I am also thrilled to be part of a school district I grew up in.

I received my Bachelors of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Texas at San Antonio in May 2011 and have been teaching at LVE since fall 2011. I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University spring 2019. I am certified to teach in Texas from Early Childhood to 6th grade, ESL, as well as Gifted and Talented students.

My passion for teaching goes beyond paper and pencil. The relationships I am able to build with my students helps them to see the good in all things, starting with themselves. The relationships I am able to build with my students’ families help create a strong support system to ensure we are all in this this together!

Outside of LVE, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and daughter, hiking, discovering waterfalls, and traveling!
