It is a joy to share my passion and love of music with the students at Juan Seguin Elementary School each year! I am honored to be one of the original staff members that helped open JSES back in 2009 and truly think of it as my forever school!
 
I was born in Washington D.C. but grew up in Texas and am a proud product of Fort Bend ISD schools (Grades K-12). After graduating from Clements High School in 1996 (Go Rangers), I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns)! In May 2001, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Learning and Development with a Specialization in Music. 
 
This will be my 25th year teaching elementary school and I have been blessed with many special moments and accomplishments over the years. I was honored to be named Campus Teacher of the Year at Townewest Elementary in 2007 and then again at Juan Seguin Elementary in 2013.  I have also had the pleasure of serving as our District's Elementary Music Facilitator in the past and hosting many UofH Student Teachers.  
 
When not making music, I enjoy playing board games, watching TV and spending time with my husband and our two sons (both former Stallions themselves!). 
  
This school year I will see each student in Grades PreK - 5th Grade on a six-day rotation. Our time together will include a variety of musical experiences such as singing, dancing, playing instruments, listening to various musical styles and working on building our music literacy skills.
