Hi there! My name is Kasen Kurtz, and I’m so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this school year!

I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies, and this is my third year teaching Kindergarten. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of the JSES family for the past four years—first as a Pre-K aide, and now as a proud member of the Kinder team.

During my time here, I’ve had the honor of being named Campus Rookie Teacher of the Year and receiving the FBISD Equity & Access Award—which probably just means I drink a lot of coffee and ask a lot of questions... But either way, I love what I do!

When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me rewatching a favorite Disney movie, wandering the Target aisles for “just one thing,” or spending time with my three fur babies—Harvee, Perry, and Missi—who keep life hilariously unpredictable. I also love a good iced matcha, lazy Sundays, and any excuse to wear comfy clothes.

Here’s to a year full of giggles, glue sticks, and growing minds—I can’t wait to get started!
