Mr. Matthew Sacks

My name is Mr. Sacks, and I’m a Resource/In-Class Support Teacher here at Juan Seguin Elementary. I work closely with students in both general education and special education settings to provide the individualized support they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

I’m originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but my journey has taken me back and forth between Massachusetts and Texas several times. My family moved to Texas when I was young, and after a few years, we returned to Massachusetts. We eventually decided to move back to Texas, and I’ve cherished every moment of living here ever since. Fort Bend County has truly become my home, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

I’m also a proud product of Fort Bend ISD! I graduated from Clements High School in 2019, and returning to serve the same district that shaped me as a student is something I take great pride in. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from University of Houston—Downtown. Originally, I wanted to work in real estate. However, I decided just before finishing college that I wanted to pursue my true passion, which is teaching.

After college, I came back to Fort Bend ISD, where I initially started as a substitute teacher, and spent most of my first year as a long-term sub as Resource/In Class Support Aide at Alyssa Ferguson Elementary School. During that time, I worked on getting my teaching certificate and gained many hours of real classroom experience.

Teaching in Fort Bend ISD is especially meaningful to me because it’s the same district that supported and inspired me throughout my own education. Being able to give back to this community is truly an honor. I genuinely love working with the students here at Juan Seguin Elementary — their energy, curiosity, and personalities make every day rewarding. My passion for teaching grows stronger each year, and I’m committed to creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every child.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, listening to music, spending time outdoors at local parks or neighborhood walks, working out at my gym, and shopping, especially on Amazon.
