The Basics Hi! My Name is ShaKendrea Hewitt. I am 46 years young. I have two loving and amazing children, my son is a junior at Rice University and my daughter is a Medical Academy freshman at Hightower High School. I have a passion for literacy and early childhood education. My Childhood I am from a little town in East Texas called Center. It is 32 miles northeast of Nacogdoches, Texas. I grew up in Houston on the southwest side of town. I attended Johnston Middle School and I am a graduate of Westbury High School. My Education I am a proud Lady Jack, representing my alma mater Stephen F. Austin State University. I received both my Bachelor’s and my Master’s degrees in Special Education from SFASU. This is my 17th year in education. This is my second year in Fort Bend ISD. I started my educational career as a para educator while attending school at SFA. I have worked as a Life-Skills teacher, PPCD teacher, Pre-K teacher, Kindergarten teacher, Reading Interventionist, and as an Assistant Principal.
