Ms. Bridgette K Barnes

I am so excited to be a part of Dulles Elementary, as a resource teacher for the 4th and 5th graders.   I have been here for 16 years.    This year's theme is "Learning Takes Us Places"  I am looking forward to being with my students and see where they will go!

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but by the time I was 5, I had made it to the great state of Texas. I really consider myself a proud Texan.

Growing up in Houston, I went to school on the southwest side.  It was Mackenzie Clark, my second-grade teacher at Andy Anderson,  that sparked my interest in becoming a teacher. I know it was her colored chalk and centers that made teaching look so fun.  I hope that she is proud of the teacher that I have become.    After graduation from High School, I went to Stephen F. Austin State University. I majored in Speech/Language Pathology and Special Education.  After graduation, I came back to the Houston area where I got my first job in Deer Park, where I worked as an elementary/junior high speech therapist, and from there to HISD doing special education classroom teaching.   In January of 2009, I arrived here at Dulles Elementary. I have enjoyed every minute!

When I am not at Dulles,  I enjoy being with family and friends, and baseball.  Go ASTROS!!!  I have one son and a wonderful daughter-in-law,  both are also  SFA Lumberjacks.

I have been teaching for over 35 years!!!  I love teaching and I am so proud to be a VIKING.

I know that this year will be GREAT!!
